Date in New York
Holden's date with Sally shows how insecure he really is that he has to be with someone to make himself feel better. He insults her and treats her like a child, even though she is ten, but it shows that he is just in love with Jane and can't compare her to anyone else. He then calls Sally when he is drunk and upsets her even more. This is inappropriate, yet funny. I also like how the book shows Holden's weak side and how he needs to act old to make himself feel better just like going out with Sally. In my opinion, Holden just wants to through his life down the drain and give up and I do not like this about the book because it makes me angry.
